3-4 and more hoeing of the crop is carried out, the first deeper (10-12 cm), and the next – shallow (5-6 cm), so as not to tear the root system. Weeding is not allowed.

Cucumbers are most attacked by common mange (kubenzis), powdery mildew, aphids, spider mites, thrips and whitefly.

Against kubenzis (the most dangerous disease) the infested leaves are cleaned and the crop is treated consecutively every 2-3 days with 0.2% aliet zineb, 0.25% kurseit zineb, 0.075% quadris, 0.25% ridomil gold, and against powdery mildew – respectively with 0.02% Rubigan or with 0.05% Anvil, 0.03% Sistan, etc.

Aphids are fought with 0.02% karate or 0.1% pyrimor, 0.1% flax, etc .; against mites it is sprayed with 0,1% omit, with 0,02% talstar, 0,05% nisuran, 0,1% cascade, etc., and against thrips – with 0,1% orten or 0,1% evisekt, 0.02% talstar et al.

The fight against whitefly is difficult and long. The crop is treated with 0.02% talstar, 0.15% endudan, 0.15% cascade, 0.1% fortene, 0.02% mospilen and others.
