The most available brown material is newspapers and cardboard. For composting can to put about a dozen newspapers. They should be torn into strips or the individual pages should be crumpled into balls, and it is good to wet them first. If there are no other “brown” materials, a few weeks can be added around half of a newspaper. Plain brown cardboard can be applied, but it is advisable to moisten it first. Colored cardboard boxes should be avoided due to the toxicity of their inks.
