The most dangerous disease of quince is the death of the knots. Other common diseases are rust, soft rot, brown and bitter spots.

From the enemies that attack the quince, damage is caused by apple fruit worm, eastern fruit worm, mining moths, leaf-eating caterpillars, leaf and thyroid lice, moss beetle, leafhoppers and others.
