- The most dangerous diseases for the apple are scab and powdery mildew.
- Other fungal diseases, such as black, early and late brown rot, also occur during growth. During storage, mainly blue (soft), gray and brown rot develop.
- The apple is also attacked by a large number of enemies, the most dangerous of which are the apple fruit worm, mining moths and fruit mites.
