Yes, you can. A very cheap composting container can be made using wooden pallets, which will eventually arrive at the landfill. Just connect three pallets in the shape of a square by fastening them with bolts or wire and attach to them the fourth pallet, which should be movable like a door so you can turn compost easily when you need to. Several containers can also be joined in a common system (using 10 pallets). This makes it possible to maintain piles of different maturity and each to turn, when necessary. You can also use old barrels, cans, wooden chests, etc. A container can also be built of bricks – three walls are made, and the fourth missing to provide access.
